Presented for your consideration: the song, “I WANT YOU TO WANT ME”, originally by Cheap Trick, then re-done by the girl group Letters To Cleo.
BOTH groups are worthy of praise & respect as artists – no questions asked. But ultimately, who does this song better?
Right this moment I prefer the re-make by Letters to Cleo – skilled and in sync, clearly this band brings it home. But of course – Cheap Trick – the song’s rightful owners, and gifted bodhisattvas in their craft. So it’s a tough call, to be sure.
First – here’s the 1979 original by the legendary rock group Cheap Trick...
30 years after – here’s the 2009 remake by Letters to Cleo.
