Runaway Window…?

THE PROBLEM:  You’re working on your Windows PC – you double click an icon and (for whatever reason) the window opens outside the frame of your screen?

desktop emptyJust like Col. Kurtz in Apocalypse Now – the Window has gone ROGUE!   It is “out there operating without any decent restraint, totally beyond the pale of any acceptable” control!  (1)

  1. Locate the desired “program icon” on your taskbar (usually at the bottom of your screen).
  2. Press & Hold the SHIFT key, as you RIGHT CLICK the desired icon.
This opens a context menu (pictured).shift-rightclick
  3. Release the SHIFT key, and click “MOVE”.
You can probably take it from here!
But just in case there’s a snag –
Your cursor is now hovering on the title bar of the desired window, so (just act like you want to move an icon) …
  4. Regular click & hold down on your mouse, then move it slightly (in any direction), & release.
