The Way Technology OUGHT To Be

Gmail is keystroke-friendly, and many common tasks are designed to make the mouse entirely optional.

For example, if you highlight a phrase & click on “Hyperlink”, you get the “Hyperlink Dialog Box”.

The cool part is – from this point on – you don’t need to grab your mouse to click inside the correct field to begin typing.  Your blinking insertion point is already right where you want it, already in the appropriate field, awaiting you to type the url address.

So you type it in, and hit [Enter].  Again – no need to grab your mouse, and click on the [OK] button.  Hitting [Enter] means “OK”.
